I had a pretty good response on my last couponing post, so I thought I’d let you all in on what I scored last week. My dad is the best, and he always gets me my ads from the Kansas City Star, but that means I don’t usually get them until the following week. Therefore, I’m usually a week behind on my deals. In this case, I’m a week behind on posting them too, putting me almost two weeks behind. While these deals aren’t current, I hope they give you a good idea on how to look for and find similar savings. I wasn’t after much and didn’t have much time, but here goes:
2 Clear shampoo and 2 Clear conditioner. On sale for $4.99. Promotion for Buy 3, Receive a $5 Target Gift Card. I had two coupons for Buy one Shampoo, Get one Conditioner FREE.
2 bags of M&Ms. On sale for $2.87. I had a manufacturer coupon for $1.50 off 2 and a Target coupon for $1.50 off 2.
MATH: [($4.99 x 4) – ($4.99 x 2)] + [($2.87 x 2) – ($3.00)] = $12.72 PLUS $5 Target Gift Card, so I consider the total $7.72 (would have been $25.70, saved 70%)
* This deal was extra sweet because I paid with a preloaded $8 Mastercard from the Energizer Toy Cash promotion. About two months ago, I purchased two 8-packs of batteries on sale for $10 and received the $8 rebate in the mail. So I got batteries out of the deal, too! :)
3 Speed Stick deodorants. On sale for $1.99. I had 3 coupons for $1 off 1.
2 TRESemme shampoos. They were $4.99 and I had a manufacturer coupon for Buy One Get One Free (up to $6 value) and a CVS coupon for $2 off 2. When she rang me up, the manufacturer coupon took off $6 rather than just $4.99. I don’t know if CVS always does this or if it was a glitch. Either way…
MATH: [($1.99 x 3) – ($3.00)] + ($4.99 x 2) – ($6.00 + $2.00)] = $4.95 (would have been $15.95, saved 69%)
I was pretty satisfied with my finds, mostly because a couple weeks ago I ended up with 6 bottles of conditioner and then ran out of shampoo. Now I have 2 more bottles of conditioner and 4 bottles of shampoo. Oh, and M&Ms. All is right with the world. :)
